Reasons why you decided to run for the board:Wanted to get involved in a local pharmacy organization, and later realized that the local area needed us volunteer board members to keep the association going.

Reflections on board/association involvement:  One of the things I enjoy about our association is seeing everyone come together at our meetings and programs. Everyone enjoys getting together and “talking shop” and having a nice dinner and fraternizing. It’s a good feeling as a board member to seeing everyone interacting and having a good time, knowing that they would not have such an opportunity if it wasn’t for the efforts of our board. It’s also a good way to stay abreast of what is happening in pharmacy and challenging our profession.

Your goals for our profession:  I would like to see pharmacists recognized as providers. We need to have a goal to be recognized and paid appropriately for our valuable services when we dispense medications to the patient. We need to make it a goal to encourage adequate re-imbursement formulas from private insurance and state Medicaid and Medicare to ensure survival of our profession as wee know it.
