SHAYNA SKOKAN

Shayna Skokan is originally from Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Healthy Lifestyle Management and is currently a PharmD candidate at Creighton University, Class of 2023. Shayna has worked at an independent pharmacy as a technician in Sioux City since 2016 and now works as a pharmacy intern at Hy-Vee Pharmacy in Council Bluffs, Iowa and at the Omaha VA hospital inpatient pharmacy. On campus, she ithe president of the Creighton APhA-ASP Chapter, treasurer for Phi Lambda Sigma, historian for the Alpha Alpha Rho Chi Chapter, member of SSHP and Jays for Pediatrics. She also conducted an independent study on the use of over-the-counter medication in health professions students.

 

Her interests include exploring the clinical roles of pharmacists in different settings, implementing lifestyle medicine into patient care, and working towards provider status for pharmacists. She thinks being a part of this organization is a great way to network with other students and pharmacists, while also learning how to best advocate for the future of pharmacy.
